Authorities are investigating a tragic crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian in one of Orange County's busiest shopping areas. According to police reports, an SUV struck a woman on Route 211 near the Route 17 interchange in the Town of Wallkill. The incident occurred on Friday night, and despite the driver remaining at the scene, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.
Police in Poughkeepsie are actively searching for suspects involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured two officers. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday night on Main Street, where the officers were conducting a traffic stop. The suspects backed into marked police cars, striking the officers, before fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later found unoccupied, and the injured officers are currently unable to return to work.
Authorities in Yonkers are on the lookout for suspects who pepper-sprayed several individuals inside a ShopRite store. The incident took place Monday afternoon at the store located on Riverdale Avenue and Prospect Street. Initially sparked by a shoplifting incident, the situation escalated when the suspects pepper-sprayed a loss prevention officer and two shoppers. Fortunately, all injuries sustained were minor.
