Elisa Sanchez, a former employee at "Guardian Veterinary Specialists" in Southeast, was convicted of stealing crucial cancer medications meant for dogs and cats in 2022. The Putnam County District Attorney's Office confirmed Sanchez's illicit actions after she was caught by a co-worker and reported to management. She now faces a potential prison sentence of up to seven years.
Law enforcement arrested four men for allegedly stealing clothing valued at $1,700 from Dick's Sporting Goods in Yorktown. Officers located the suspects' vehicle in the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot during a routine traffic stop. All individuals involved were charged with grand larceny.
Authorities in Wallkill reported an accidental shooting incident over the weekend. State police disclosed that a gun owner unintentionally shot himself in the hand on Sunday morning at a residence on Stage Road. Emergency services swiftly responded and transported the individual to Garnet Health Medical Center. The authorities confirmed no criminal activity in the incident, noting that the firearm was legally owned.
