Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
One person is in custody, and authorities are searching for two others following a gas station burglary on Route 6 in Cortlandt on Sunday night. Ossining police observed a suspicious car at the gas station and initiated a pursuit. The vehicle entered the Village of Tarrytown, where it sideswiped another vehicle before fleeing once again. Police have stated that there is no threat to the public. Students are returning to Irvington High School after a lockdown was implemented due to the police pursuit in the area.
Scarsdale Police Officer Dante Barrera has pleaded guilty to harassing a woman in Elmsford last year. Originally charged with assault after allegedly attacking the woman, Barrera completed programs as part of his plea for the reduced charge. He has been suspended without pay since January.
Two individuals in Dutchess County have been arrested for drug-related offenses. Robert Beebe was found driving under the influence of drugs in the area of Route 22 and North Nellie Road. Additionally, Shannan Mead was discovered in possession of over 38 grams of crack cocaine and is accused of intending to sell it. Beebe is scheduled to appear in court in mid-November, while Mead has already had her first court appearance.
