Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Fire officials in Port Chester report that crews responded to a large debris fire behind the old United Hospital building on Boston Post Road and High Street. The fire was swiftly brought under control in just under an hour.
A fire at 80 Maple St. in Yonkers has left the building uninhabitable. All seven occupants managed to escape unharmed; however, two city firefighters sustained minor injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
Milso Pineda-Monroy, a resident of Monticello, has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison for a stabbing incident that occurred at a South Fallsburg gas station last September. Following his prison term, he will be subject to 5 years of post-release supervision.
State police are seeking public assistance in identifying two individuals in connection with an investigation involving the passing of counterfeit bills in Hyde Park, Dutchess County. Anyone with information about their identities or whereabouts is urged to contact state police at (845) 677-7300.
