Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Fire officials say a blaze broke at a home in Port Chester Saturday night. They say they got a call around 8:30 p.m. about flames on Gilbert Place. The fire started on the first floor of the home, and firefighters were able to stop it from spreading to the second floor.
Port Chester was also on the scene of a rollover accident that happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday on Boston Post Road near the McDonald's. No injuries have been reported.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman is joining calls for the Department of Justice to investigate the Mount Vernon Police Department for civil rights violations. The department has been accused of 'pervasive' and persistent civil rights violations, including unlawful strip searches and excessive use of force. Congressman Bowman's office released a statement that reads, in part, "The City of Mount Vernon, the Westchester County District Attorney, and whistleblowers within the Mount Vernon Police Department have my full support in this important step toward accountability."
