Officers were called to the scene of four other shootings on Tuesday and two on July 4.
The body of a missing Peekskill teenager has been recovered from the Delaware River. Liony Santos' body was pulled from the water in Sullivan County. The 17-year-old was swept away while swimming in the river at Cedar Rapids on July 4. Santos is the fourth drowning in 10 days in the Delaware River.
Police responded to an armed home invasion on South Sixth Avenue in Mount Vernon just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. Officers say two men entered the home with guns. While police were inside the house investigating, they heard gunshots outside and saw two cars speed away. A Bronx man arrested after crashing on city property. The other driver got away in a black BMW.
A gun was taken from a driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash in Clarkstown. Police say Michael Ramos drove up the sidewalk, just missing a man before hitting a building and taking off.
