Here are some of the stories making headlines in the Hudson Valley on this Friday:
The owner of a Rockland County funeral home is facing additional charges after allegedly stealing money from burial accounts. Officials have identified 33 more victims. Fifty-three-year-old Leonard Scarr, of Scarr Funeral Home, is accused of misappropriating funds that should have been deposited into burial accounts. They add that he also forged a victim's death certificate.
A man entered a not guilty plea after the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old from Mount Vernon. County officials say Negus Kirton shot Michael Toro to death back in May. He is due back in court at the end of the month.
Police are now searching for a suspect following a shooting in the city of Newburgh. Police say they responded to Lake Drive on Tuesday night. When officers arrived, the say they found a victim who was shot.
