Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Rockland County's Office of Building and Codes is officially up and running. The department's inception comes after the state ordered Rockland County to take over Spring Valley's building department. Effective immediately, the county is implementing a 30 day moratorium in the village on new permit applications. Once the county's job is complete, the state will return power back to Spring Valley.
The state is hosting a digital forum on the recreational legalization of marijuana. It's set for Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. It's one of 11 regional "Cannabis Conversations" planned by the Office of Cannabis Management. Topics include health and safety concerns along with the goal of building an inclusive industry.
Orange County is releasing a request for proposal for Camp LaGuardia. The 258-acre campus in the towns of Blooming Grove and Chester was purchased by the county back in 2007 after it was used as a homeless shelter for New York City residents. The county says there is plenty of land for a variety of uses as well as commercial development.
