Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Patrick Lynch, a Connecticut man, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for committing child sex crimes in Orange County. Lynch confessed to sexually abusing a child under 13 years old on multiple occasions. Following his release, he will be registered as a sex offender and undergo 20 years of post-release supervision.
Police in Poughkeepsie are actively investigating a shots fired incident reported on Sunday night. The incident occurred on the 300 block of Church Street. After conducting a thorough search of the area, numerous shell casings were discovered, along with multiple bullet strikes to an occupied residence.
New York State Police are seeking assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian severely injured. The incident took place on Sunday in Brewster on Railroad Avenue between 1:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. The vehicle in question is described as a dark-colored SUV, potentially a Nissan, traveling north on Railroad Avenue, south of the Brewster Train Station. Anyone with information that may lead to the identification of the driver is asked to contact police at 845-677-7300.
