Here are some of the stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Officers uncovered more than 3 grams of cocaine and an illegal gun during a traffic stop on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. Police say they found the drugs and weapon on James Atkins, 20, a passenger in a car they stopped on Route 9 for speeding.  The gun was reported stolen in South Carolina.
At least one person was rescued from a stalled elevator at the Metro-North station in Croton-on-Hudson on Sunday. Once the elevator passenger was safe, fire crews turned the situation over to the MTA police and the elevator inspector, who was the person stuck.
Seniors at Pace University are pushing back against plans for a virtual graduation ceremony. They've started a petition on change.org, demanding an in-person event. They're looking to raise at least 1,000 signatures. So far, they have close to 800.
