Here are some stories making headlines
across the Hudson Valley.
There's
a ribbon cutting for a new mobile treatment unit today for those suffering from
substance abuse. It's at the Sullivan County
Legislative Building in Monticello. The county is partnering with the Bridge Back to Life
Center. The event is
at 1 p.m.
A deer was rescued in Irvington on Wednesday. News 12 was told the
deer had fallen into a newly poured foundation for a home there. Quality Pro
Pest and Wildlife Services, along with Greenburgh Animal Control and the
Irvington police and fire departments, were able to save the deer. It was
released and was not hurt.
Some
Hudson Valley communities have made a new list of the safest cities in the U.S.
Pine Plains in Dutchess County is ranked eighth and
Cornwall, in Orange County, is 22nd. Yonkers came
in as the eighth safest "mid-size
city" while Carmel, in Putnam, came in at 7th
in the "small cities" category. The survey by CC Camera TV World used the most recent FBI
data on crime rates to create the rankings.
