Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police are searching for a suspect after a Suffern man's ear was severely cut by a man with a knife. Officers in Suffern responded to an assault reported on the corner of Chestnut Street and Ramapo Avenue on Saturday. Police say a man slashed the victim with what they believe was a folding type of box cutter. The suspect took off before authorities arrived. The victim and suspect knew each other, and this was a targeted attack, according to police.

Police are now considering the death of a Stony Point woman to be suspicious after her body was found in an Orange County motel room. Investigators say Mary Callan was found dead on May 26 at the Windsor Hotel in New Windsor. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
An Orange County family is now without a home after a fire in Goshen. Fire officials say it happened on Montgomery Street Monday evening. Those living in the home were able to get out safely without any injuries. The house was badly damaged and is now unlivable.
