Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
The Spring Valley teen who was hospitalized since last week's crash in West Nyack has been released. Spring Valley football coach Andrew Delva says Ashawn Duncan is home from the hospital. He says Duncan thanks everyone for their prayers while he recovered from the crash. Another Spring Valley football player, 19-year-old Rashid Hopson, was killed in the same crash.
A teen is now facing charges after a fatal shooting in Sleepy Hollow. Police say 18-year-old Emmanuel Valentin Perez shot and killed Manuel Salazar during an argument at Margotta Courts Park on June 28. Perez is charged with manslaughter and attempted assault. The teen faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
In two weeks, a Newburgh man will face DWI charges after allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. Police say Hosmar Garcia Giron was pulled over on I-87 in Cornwall early Monday morning. They say his BAC was .18 when he was brought into custody.
