Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing Harrison man. They say Bruce Rubin went for a routine run while staying at a resort near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia on Friday and he has not been seen since. Search teams are using scent and tracker dogs and top of the line technology in an attempt to locate Rubin.
Ossining police successfully de-escalated a situation involving a weapon. Officers responded after a minor was considering "suicide by cop". The young person began firing at responding officers with an air-soft rifle. The officers did not fire back. The gun was retrieved by the minor's parents, and the juvenile was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
New York will be the first state in the country to declare a disaster emergency on gun violence. Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls the situation a public health crisis that greatly affects Black and brown communities. Cuomo says the solution is part police reform - part prevention on the streets - and stopping illegal guns from coming in from out of state. He plans to invest more than $138 million to create thousands of jobs, recreation centers, and arts programs - specifically for at-risk youth in high-crime hotspots.
