HEADLINES: White Plains killing, Newburgh shooting, lane closure on CCP

Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
No arrests have been made yet in the New Year's Eve shooting in White Plains that left a man dead. Police say it happened on North Kensico Avenue just before midnight. Shawn Jefferson, 49, who lived in a nearby apartment complex, died about 30 minutes later at the hospital.
A man is in recovery after being shot in the arm in Newburgh over the holiday weekend. It happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Police were called to South Lander Avenue where they saw a vehicle that had been hit by several gunshots. They say 28-year-old victim was also hit at least once in his arm. He's expected to survive.
And a commuter alert this morning as there will be single lane closures along the Cross County Parkway. The Department of Transportation says closures are expected westbound between Exit 6 at the Bronx River Parkway and Exit 3 at Yonkers Avenue. Those closures will take place from 9 p.m. until 2 p.m. for sign inspections.
