A Connecticut woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing more than $97,000 from the Putnam County business where she worked. Last April, a Brewster business owner suspected their bookkeeper of taking funds from the company and notified the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. After an investigation, Marlenin Vito was arrested and charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.

A former Orange County medical office manager has pleaded guilty to defrauding the state health insurance plan. The State Comptroller's Office says Gina Bradshaw of Maybrook was enrolled in NYSHIP through her husband's state job. When a NYSHIP member uses an out-of-network healthcare provider, they can have a portion of the medical costs reimbursed. Bradshaw admitted to submitting false claims, saying she received services at two offices where she worked, and collected more than $12,000 in reimbursement checks.

Stony Point police are still searching for one suspect in connection to an attempted robbery and home invasion. A man reported being confronted Monday night by two men with guns and ski masks as he entered his garage. Police say the homeowner and the suspects got into a struggle, during which a shot was fired, but thankfully, nobody was hit. Police arrested Julian Sanchez of the Bronx, who faces charges including burglary and robbery. The search for the other suspect continues.
