A new high-end tackle shop opened in Rye and is a first of its kind for Westchester County.

The tackle shop, Tyalure Tackle, named after the owner’s son, is a premier shop for both inshore and offshore fishing.

One customer, who says he has visited the store four times since it opened last Monday, says the shop has everything he needs.

“For a fisherman, this is a kid-in-a-candy-store type of environment. You come in here and there's just everything you could want,” said Tom Mauriello.

The store’s owner, Nuno Decosta, says the shop is packed with fishing tackle that can be used anywhere. 

While Tyalure is primarily a shop, some customers feel it is also a great way to meet and talk with other fishermen.

“It's almost like going to a club…Everyone shares this common thing that they do, and you meet people here that you might pass on the street…It's a special place,” said Mauriello.
