Highbridge man stabbed in the back of the head; attacker on the run

Police say a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the back of the head in front of 1005 Jerome Ave. on Wednesday.

Police say a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the back of the head on Wednesday, steps from the Yankee Stadium on Jerome Avenue.

Investigators say officers were called to 1005 Jerome Ave. for a report of a stabbing at around 11:44 p.m.

There they found the victim with a stab wound on the back of the head.

Officers quickly jumped into action, rushing the man to a local hospital in a police vehicle.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Police sources tell News 12 they believe a man was behind the attack. The alleged suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts, before he took off running northbound on Jerome Avenue.
