A man and woman found dead in an overturned vehicle in Lake Tiorati have been identified as Hillburn residents, although the circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
Officials were called to Seven Lakes Drive in Tuxedo at around 8:30 a.m. yesterday for reports of a vehicle in the water.
Dive teams from surrounding departments responded and discovered the bodies of George Powell Jr., 62, and Victoria Dufreese, 56, inside of the overturned Chevrolet Blazer.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing into the nature of the crash.
