A West Nyack neighborhood is angry with Orange and Rockland Utilities contractors after they chopped down a historic tree that has been growing since the 1800s.
Only a tall stump is left of a massive tree on Strawtown Road that's survived hurricanes, ice storms and more through the decades.
The utility company apparently had concerns over its large branches knocking out power and cut it down yesterday.
News 12 reached out to Orange and Rockland Utilities for comment, but so far, it has not returned the calls.
