One of eight murals that have hung in Mamaroneck High School was taken down for restoration and will be relocated.

The murals have hung along the school's cafeteria walls for more than eight decades.

Construction plans at the high school would have either destroyed or covered the moments in history. The Mamaroneck Historical Society raised money to save the murals.

Officials say they are moving forward with removing the second mural.
