The house prices in Westchester are on the rise once again with the median price of a home in the county above $700,000.
Laura Bulfamante has been searching for a home in Westchester for two years so she can raise her family where she grew up.
"We love Westchester," says Bulfamante. "We own a small business together and it's just hard to compete."
The first-quarter real estate sales report from the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors shows the median sales price for a single-family home in the county is $729,000. That's a 21.5% increase over a three-year period.
Leah Caro, president of Park Sterling Realty, says it's simple supply and demand.
"There are so few houses available for purchase," says Caro. "It's a competitive buyer's market."
Realtors say they are starting to see some more inventory. They say a month ago a home would stay on the market for days with dozens of offers but now the houses are on the market for weeks with fewer offers.
