Workers at three Hudson Valley hospitals who are part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network took to the picket line Tuesday over recently announced layoffs that they say will impact the facilities.
About 50 positions at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis and St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick are being eliminated.
At Good Samaritan, workers say the network is moving those resources from the hospitals to their main campus in Valhalla.
Westchester Medical Center Health Network released that said in part:
“This decision followed a comprehensive review of operations, staffing and services to align resources in a manner that best supports our community's needs."
They added that patient-care services are unaffected, and no services were closed at the hospitals due to this decision.
