After
several days of major disruptions on Metro-North, the trains are getting closer
to running on their normal timeframe.
The Hudson
Line has reopened after having suspended service since last Wednesday’s storm damaged
infrastructure.
Landslides
and downed trees forced the railroad to shut down service. The MTA says it has spent 105 hours restoring slopes and the foundation along the
Hudson Line.
Officials
say the Hudson Line will operate with reduced service until
further notice. Here are some of the changes still in effect:
- Hudson Line trains will operate half-hourly service during
peak hours at all stations.
- On the Croton-Harmon line,
south trains will run every hour.
- Poughkeepsie trains will also be
hourly.
- Northbound express and local tracks
are still out of service between Riverdale and Tarrytown.
- There are temporary walkways to get commuters
to the platforms where trains are running.
Officials
encourage riders to check
the
train schedule and to see how service changes impact your commute
or check the Metro-North
Train Time app and the MY MTA app.
Work
remains ongoing to bring the Hudson Line back to full service as soon as
possible.
