A Hudson Valley food bank is raising awareness to what it says is a recent, alarming surge in food insecurity.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley says an increasing number of working families are coming to them for help, unable to pay for food due to inflation, rising food costs and the price of gas.
The agency serves six counties in the Lower New York area and distributes food from its warehouse in Cornwall to hundreds of local food banks.
They say food insecurity has remained high since the start of the pandemic and there's now a second surge.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is asking for donations to help meet the needs of local families.
