Hudson Valley, Westchester residents deal with aftermath of Ernesto
New Rochelle residents spent Sunday dealing with the aftermath of a storm that blew through Westchester and the Hudson Valley Saturday, knocking out power to thousands and leaving damage.
A piece of a brick wall came crashing down to the floor inside the Union Baptist Church. The pastor of the nearly century-old church says he?s thankful no parishioners were there at the time. The high wind from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto also knocked down trees, utility lines and flooded out some areas. About 48,000 Con Edison customers were without power Sunday morning.Meanwhile, in Eastchester the storm temporarily disrupted 911 phone service.
