Doctors throughout the Hudson Valley are warning residents to protect themselves as temperatures dip below freezing.
Dr. Jerry Guzik, the assistant director of Good Samaritan Hospital's Emergency Department, says residents must be extra cautious when out in the cold and remember to dress appropriately.
Guzik says the weather can be very dangerous because the body's protective reflexes fail in extreme weather.
