The remnants from Tropical Storm Nicole caused some changes to Veterans Day events and high school playoff football games.

Eastchester, New Rochelle, and North Salem were among the communities that moved their Veterans Day commemorations indoors to avoid the rain.

On the gridiron, the Class D football playoff game between Tuckahoe and Haldane was moved up to 9:30 a.m. at Mahopac High School, which was only possible because schools are closed today for Veterans Day.  Tuckahoe won the game 47-20.

The Class A championship between Somers and Rye was also pushed up. Somers won 45-13.
