Fire gutted a Stony Point house Monday, leaving the family looking for a new place to call home during the holidays.

About 60 firefighters responded to the early morning fire at 13 Lake Road. Officials say the flames were so intense, firefighters had to fall back at one point. The roof is now charred, the second floor is destroyed and the home will likely be gutted. The family of four escaped safely.

Firefighters believe the fire was electrical and say it does not appear suspicious.
