An Iona College student from Yonkers rode on his bike for over 3,000 miles for a good cause.

Tackling rough terrain in the Rockies and biking the flat surfaces of New York are nothing new for 20-year-old Aidan Connolly.

Connolly just came back from a more 3,700-mile, 63-day bike trip to raise money for people with disabilities. The Iona College junior says he became interested in biking for a good cause after joining his college fraternity and the organization's focus on philanthropy. The Journey of Hope trip was from San Francisco to Washington, D.C.

Connolly's first pushed him and his fraternity brothers to their physical limits, with Connolly having to overcome food poisoning and viral tonsilitis.

Still, the riders pushed on and were able to raise $500,000 in donations.

As for the next step in his personal journey, Connolly will continue his scholastic pursuits in economic and informational systems while still making time for endurance athletics.
