A rally in White Plains Tuesday demanded that Gov. Kathy Hochul use her executive power to grant clemency to some incarcerated people.
The gathering of criminal justice reform advocates outside of Westchester County Courthouse was one of five rallies held across the state.
Advocates say they want Hochul to grant more clemency than her predecessor. Gov. Andrew Cuomo granted 41 commutations in his 11 years in office.
Hochul has yet to grant clemency to a single person since taking office in August.
News 12 reached out to the governor's office and is waiting to hear back.
