Police say a dispute in Kiryas Joel over the planned razing of a local synagogue has led to protests and two arrests.
The dispute erupted Sunday morning when one group says bulldozers arrived to tear down their small synagogue. The synagogue is located in the back of Congregation Yetev Lev, the largest synagogue in Kiryas Joel.
Both sides say religious freedom is the main issue.
