A kitten stuck in a car engine was rescued safely
thanks to a pair of Ramapo police officers and an animal control officer.
Officers Genito, Simpson,
and McGrath responded to a home on Viola Road in New Hempstead after a neighbor
reported a kitten trapped in a car engine compartment.
After some resistance, they
were eventually able to pull the kitten out safely.
Officers tell News 12 the
scared kitten ran off as soon as it was freed from the car.
No one in the neighborhood
has reported a missing cat, and it is believed to be a stray.
