Lady Mustang fans not disappointed with fourth regional title win
Lady Mustang fans were not disappointed this weekend as Monroe College squared off against Hostos for the Region 15 Women?s Basketball Championship.
Monroe has been ranked first in the country all year, but the Lady Caimans were hoping they could upset the defending national champions. Chemar Stewartson did her part to help her teammates with 11 points. But it wasn?t enough as Monroe took over at the half. Angela Speight and Angela Pace helped the Lady Mustangs go on to win their fourth straight regional title with a 62-46 victory. Pace was named the tournament MVP.
The Lady Mustangs now head for the national tournament in Utica. First round action is set for March 15.
