The deep freeze gripping the Hudson Valley is serving up a big blow to some restaurants, but one establishment has a special way to keep customers warm.
Billy and Pete's Social in Larchmont is lucky because the cold weather is no match for its outdoor setup. Igloos and greenhouses help keep the guests warm as they dine outdoors in the frigid temperatures.
Peter Smith, owner of Billy and Pete's Social, says the restaurant is fully booked through the weekend despite whipping winds and single-digit temperatures.
"All our igloos are sanitized and defogged," says Smith. "And of course, it is so cold and that actually helps. And they all have air ventilation, so it works out very well."
With snow in the forecast, restaurant owners will be keeping a close eye on what to expect.
