A large police presence descended at a busy intersection of New Rochelle early Friday evening.
Police tape cordoned off an area along the Main Street and Centre Avenue.
The photos acquired by News 12 show Westchester County and New Rochelle police at a scene, where there was a tow truck and a white car that appeared to be damaged.
Eyewitnesses told News 12 the incident happened just before 5 p.m.
They say there were at least six police patrols, that a woman was removed from the scene and that a number of kids were in the car.
News 12 reached out to police for additional information about the incident but had not heard back as of Friday night.
Another resident with whom News 12 spoke with said she saw buses being diverted down to nearby Prospect Street.
She explained that it was unusual because it's a very small and narrow side street, which made her think that Main Street was shut down.
