Leaders, lawmakers denounce hate against Asian American, Pacific Islander communities

Local leaders and lawmakers stood together in Newburgh denouncing hate against the Asian American community.
On the steps of their office, state Sen. James Skoufis and Assemblyman Jon Jacobson say they will put words into action by actively looking into hate crime legislation and funding in the upcoming budget to better address hate crimes against those in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
"Let me be blunt. Hate crimes have no place in Atlanta, the Hudson Valley, New York state. Or any place in America," said Jacobson.
