Legislation to rename Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge back to Tappan Zee could be reintroduced next year

The state Assembly's Transportation Committee voted to delay action on the bridge renaming bill.

Legislation to change the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge back to the Tappan Zee just died in Albany.
The state Assembly's Transportation Committee voted to delay action on the bridge renaming bill.
Assembly Member John McGowan, of Rockland County, says he's planning to reintroduce the bill, probably next year.
Assembly Member MaryJane Shimsky, of Westchester, is on the Transportation Committee, and says there are many other transportation issues that must be prioritized this year over the name change bill.
