A Herbert H. Lehman High School guidance counselor is accused of getting a student pregnant.
Police say 45-year-old David Williams had sex with the then-16-year-old girl between April and September. The student, who is now 17, is allegedly carrying Williams' child. He was arrested last month and was released without bail.
Williams was a guidance counselor with a program that aims to prevent teen pregnancies and drug abuse. Some parents expressed disgust over the accusations.
"They're supposed to be there to protect students and then they're taking advantage of students," a woman said.
Williams' landlady defended him, saying she doesn't believe the story.
News 12 The Bronx is awaiting comment from the Department of Education on what, if any actions, have been taken against Williams. He faces several charges, including rape and criminal sex acts. Williams is due back in court November 28.
