Hundreds in Montgomery waited in long lines for free COVID-19 home tests Friday.
Traffic was backed up for nearly a mile along Route 208 to Town Hall on
Bracken Road.
Town officials were giving away 10,000 test kits they purchased several
weeks ago .
Kits were available
to Montgomery residents
only and identification is required.
Town Supervisor
Brian Maher says the demand has been overwhelming. “Hopefully it does something
and has a meaningful impact, but
one thing is for sure, a lot of people want these at home tests.”
Officials say they spent $97,000 on the kits which will be reimbursed by FEMA.
