Line stretches nearly a mile for 10,000 free COVID-19 home tests in Montgomery

Kits were available to Montgomery residents only and identification is required.

Hundreds in Montgomery waited in long lines for free COVID-19 home tests Friday. 
Traffic was backed up for nearly a mile along Route 208 to Town Hall on Bracken Road.
Town officials were giving away 10,000 test kits they purchased several weeks ago .
Kits were available to Montgomery residents only and identification is required.
Town Supervisor Brian Maher says the demand has been overwhelming. “Hopefully it does something and has a meaningful impact, but one thing is for sure, a lot of people want these at home tests.”
Officials say they spent $97,000 on the kits which will be reimbursed by FEMA.
