News 12 reached out to a retired veteran to discuss the suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
Retired Sgt. Travis Melby spent 9 1/2 years in the Army, including two tours of duty in Iraq, and knows the dangers of war firsthand.
He says his heart broke when he heard over a dozen service members were killed in Afghanistan.
"I think everyone wants to blame this person or that person or this party or that party. The truth is there is a whole lot of blame to go around for 20 years since we got into it until present," says Melby.
Welby says while he believes there will be a lot of finger pointing in the days to come. He insists its most important to remember and honor the victims, and then come up with a plan what happened in Afghanistan doesn't happen again.
