Schools across Pleasantville were on lockout this morning after a student reported seeing someone put what looked like a weapon into a car.
Acting School Superintendent Dr. Eric Lutinski said staff notified Pleasantville police, who began an immediate investigation. The car and individual were identified, and police found no weapon. A cellphone was likely mistaken for a weapon, according to authorities.
Lutinski said no students were ever in harm's way and commended the student for speaking up.
The lockout ended around 11 a.m.
