A young gosling is safe after being found alone by students during recess in Fishkill.
Students at Fishkill Plains Elementary School spotted the Canada goose gosling without its family.
An environmental conservation officer responded to help but was unable to locate the bird’s relatives.
The gosling was then transported to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.
Officials say it was introduced to a new group of geese and quickly accepted.
The rescue ended with a successful reunion, giving the gosling a second chance.
