Lucius Crawford, of Mount Vernon, gets 25 years to life for murder

A Mount Vernon man who has already spent half his life in prison for crimes against women has been sentenced for murder.
Lucius Crawford today received 25 years to life for the stabbing death of girlfriend Tonya Simmons at his Mount Vernon home in 2012.
Crawford also faces a possible retrial for the death of Laronda Shealy in Yonkers in 1993, as well as a third murder charge in the Bronx. Police say Crawford admitted to all three murders when he was arrested in 2012.
The 61-year-old has spent about 30 years in prison for the stabbings of women in New York and South Carolina.
