A note from a Grubhub customer prompted employees at a Yonkers cafe to think and act quickly - possibly saving a life.
Employees at Chipper Truck Café in Yonkers received an order via Grubhub around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
The order was for an Irish breakfast sandwich and a cheeseburger. There was also a note that read: "Please call police, his going to call me when u delivered come with the cones please don't make it obvious."
Even though the note had grammatical mistakes, employees did not want to take any chances. They jumped into action and called 911 to alert police.
The customer/victim was a 24-year-old woman who had been allegedly raped at knifepoint and held against her will in a house on Pratt Avenue in the Bronx.
"A detective had called and said there had been an arrest made and that the girl was safe, and we were like, we're so happy…so happy," said Chipper Truck Cafe co-owner Alice Bermejo.
Police arrested 32-year-old Kemoy Royal on charges including rape, strangulation, assault and criminal use of a weapon.
