A Spring Valley man was taken to the hospital Thursday after purposely running into traffic on the busy Route 303.
Drivers say the 53-year-old man threw himself at an SUV in Valley Cottage and then lay down on the ground, waiting to get run over.
Police say the man then got into his Toyota, drove north, pulled over and attempted to get hit again.
Eyewitnesses say cars were stopping and swerving to avoid the man, so he tried his luck further up north. His efforts finally paid off when a Honda hit him.
The man was rushed to Nyack Hospital with serious head injuries. He's expected to recover.
