Police in Wallkill are searching for a suspect who violently robbed a man outside a restaurant last night.

Police say the incident happened at the Boston Market on Route 211 around 9:30 p.m. According to police, the suspect jumped the victim from behind, hit the person in the face and then went into his pocket.

Police say the suspect was 5'9" with a medium build, and was wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. It's unclear how much money the man got away with.

The victim was treated on the scene and released.
