Police are searching for two men who they say shot another man in broad daylight outside a Wallkill apartment complex Thursday.

According to police, two men came up to a man sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Sherwood Forest apartments around 1 p.m. After a fight, police say one of the two suspects shot the man in the car twice. The victim drove himself to the hospital. The two suspects took off on foot.

Police say none of the men involved live at the apartment complex and are investigating why the shooting occurred there. Police also say they have an idea of the motive but are not releasing that information yet.
