The family of a man with ties to Monroe, New York is desperately searching for answers after the 51-year-old vanished while on vacation with his wife in Turks and Caicos.
Brian Tarrance has been missing for nearly a week.
“The last video we see of him is around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning,” says Carl DeFazio, a private investigator hired by the Tarrance family.
Tarrance lived in Monroe until recently when he moved to Manhattan, according to DeFazio, who says he was last seen on surveillance video leaving his Airbnb and walking toward the downtown area of the popular tourist destination.
“Everything prior to the point where he walked out of that house, he seems fine. They had a boat trip and went to dinner, just like every other family would do when they’re here,” DeFazio says.
Tarrance is listed as missing by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police who are investigating.
“We are trying everything we can. We’ve blanketed the area with photos, put it on social media chats and all kinds of things,” DeFazio says.
Several people who know Tarrance from Monroe saw the information shared online and alerted News 12.
DeFazio says Tarrance had his cellphone and wallet with him when he left. It’s still not clear why he left the Airbnb.
“That’s a little bizarre in itself,” DeFazio says. “He’s in the middle of town. His wife was sleeping.”
Tarrance’s wife remains in Turks and Caicos in hopes of finding him.
Anyone with information about Tarrance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-471-TIPS.
“The worst thing is not knowing,” says DeFazio. “Every day that goes by is not good.”
