Residents in Marble Hill say they do not have an identity crisis; they are part of the Bronx.
While residents say they are proud to be part of the Bronx, geographically, Marble Hill lies in the borough of Manhattan. A Bronx historian says years ago a creek ran down Kingsbridge Avenue and divided the two boroughs. However, now Marble Hill residents have Bronx addresses, area codes and their children attend Bronx public schools, despite the technicality.
The historian also claims the original Yankee Stadium was supposed to be built in Marble Hill, but last minute changes led to its construction in the Bronx.
